Integrated Motor Starter (CPS) 63A | All-in-One Control & Protective Switching Device (YCKB7)

A traditional motor starter is three separate devices — a circuit breaker, a contactor and a thermal overload relay — selected, wired and coordinated together. A CPS integrates all three functions into one factory-coordinated unit, saving panel space, wiring and the guesswork of matching devices, while giving a very high short-circuit breaking capacity.

What the YCKB7 does

The YCKB7 performs three jobs at once: it switches the motor on and off (the contactor function), it protects against overload (the relay function, with an adjustable trip), and it breaks short-circuit faults up to 50 kA at 400 V (the breaker function) — clearing a fault in under 2 ms. It supports local control (2-wire and 3-wire), local-plus-remote, and a communication version for control from an upper-level computer.

The type designation reads YC-KB7-63 / [current] [M|Q] [T]: YC = CNC, KB7 = CPS family, 63 = frame, /current = the current step (e.g. /63 = 25–63 A), M = 230 V or Q = 400 V control, and a trailing T = communication type (blank = standard).

What the YCKB7 does not do

A CPS replaces the breaker + contactor + overload-relay combination for a motor — it does not vary speed or soft-start. For a gentle ramp-up use the CNC YCQR7 soft starter; for speed control use the CNC YCB600 VFD. If you prefer separate components, pair a contactor with the CNC JR28S thermal overload relay.
