When you need to switch a large lighting circuit, a heater bank, a pump or a floor of sockets from a single control signal — a timer, a switch, a building-management system — you use a modular contactor. It sits in the distribution board on DIN rail, takes little width, and switches the load quietly and reliably tens of thousands of times.

What the YCCH6 does

The YCCH6 switches a load on and off in response to a small control voltage on its coil. It's designed for AC-1, AC-7a and AC-7b duties — resistive and low-inductive household and commercial loads such as lighting, heating and small motors — and operates quietly enough for use in occupied buildings. Being modular, it lines up neatly beside MCBs and RCBOs on the same rail.

Available in 2-pole and 4-pole, in module widths from 18 mm (one module) upward, with a choice of contact configurations:

Coil voltage options are 24, 110 or 230 V (230 V is standard). A sister version, the YCCH6Z, offers a universal AC/DC coil (12/24/48/110/230 V) for control systems that switch the coil with DC.

The code reads YCCH6-[current] / [contacts], where the contact figure is NO-count then NC-count: /20 = 2NO, /02 = 2NC, /11 = 1NO+1NC, /40 = 4NO, /04 = 4NC, /22 = 2NO+2NC, /31 = 3NO+1NC. A Z suffix denotes the AC/DC-coil YCCH6Z family.

What the YCCH6 is (and isn't)

The YCCH6 is a modular household/commercial contactor to IEC 61095 — ideal for lighting and heating control in a distribution board. It is not an industrial motor-duty contactor for heavy AC-3 motor starting (that is a different series). If you need to force the contactor on or off by hand as well as automatically, choose the CNC YCCH7 with manual override.

What is a modular contactor used for?

How is it different from a normal contactor?

What does AC-7a mean?
