Installation of AC SPD (Surge Protection Device)
To get the best performance and safety from your AC Surge Protection Device (SPD), make sure you follow these important steps when putting it:
1. Where to Mount:
The SPD should be put on a 35 mm standard rail in the main electrical panel or distribution board. Make sure that the installation spot is easy to get to for maintenance and monitoring.
2. Connect the wires:
Hook up the SPD in series with the AC power line. It is important to firmly connect the L (Line), N (Neutral), and PE (Protective Earth) wires to the correct SPD terminals.
3. Right Grounding:
The SPD must have right grounding in order to work properly and safely. Make sure that the PE (Protective Earth) connection has a cross-sectional area big enough to handle possible surges.
4. Conditions of the Environment:
The device can work in places with temperatures between -40°C and +85°C. For the best performance, make sure that these temperature and humidity levels are met at the installation spot.
AC SPD Cartridge That Can Be Taken Out
The AC SPD's key feature that makes it easier to use and maintain is the cartridge that can be taken out and replaced.
1. Simple to Change:
The SPD has a cartridge that can be taken out and changed without having to disconnect the whole system or do a lot of complicated wiring.
With this function, there will be little downtime when the cartridge needs to be changed.
2. Replacement Indicator:
The machine might have a feature that shows you when the cartridge needs to be changed. In most cases, this is because the cartridge has absorbed a surge. This is done as a safety step to keep the electrical system safe.
