Fixed vs Drawout — Which One You Need

Fixed ACB

Hard-wired into the panel with line and load terminals bolted directly. Lower cost (typically 25–35% cheaper than drawout). Requires planned shutdown for any maintenance — the entire feeder must be de-energised before the ACB can be opened. Drawout ACB

Mounted in a wheeled cradle that disconnects from the bus stabs and rolls forward for testing or replacement, without disturbing the cabling.
